OC ACFE Chapter Membership & Affiliates Bylaws
OC ACFE Chapter (“OC Chapter” or “Chapter”) membership has a number of benefits including event discounts, priority reservations, exclusive resources, and more. Chapter Membership year begins January 1 and ends Dec. 31 annually. You may join or renew your membership any time. However, to receive 12 months of membership benefits, payments must be received by December 31, 11:59pm PST. Our events are available to members, affiliates, students, and the general public.
General Eligibility:
All applicants are subject to approval by the OC Chapter and the Chapter Board of Directors. No person shall be eligible to participate in the Chapter as a member or an affiliate if that person is currently expelled or suspended from the ACFE or any other Chapter of the ACFE. All applicants must complete and submit a written application, pay applicable Chapter dues, and agree to abide by the Uniform Chapter Bylaws [https://www.acfe.com/-/media/files/acfe/pdfs/chapter/chapter-bylaws---2nd-revised---2013-12-06.pdf] and the operational guidelines established by the Chapter.
Qualifications for Membership:
1) To join as a Certified Fraud Examiner Member (CFE) of the Chapter, you must be a current member of the ACFE and a registered CFE. Any CFE of the ACFE who is in good standing may be a member of the Chapter under the terms set forth in the Uniform Chapter Bylaws. CFEs may hold any Chapter office and shall have voting rights. Only CFEs may hold the Chapter’s office of president or serve as training director. If deemed appropriate, the Chapter Board of Directors may allow one CFE to hold both of these positions. (Annual Membership Dues: $75.00).
2) To join as an Associate Member, Any person who is an associate member of the ACFE in good standing may be a member of the Chapter under the terms set forth in the Uniform Chapter Bylaws. Associate members may be granted Chapter voting rights and the right to hold Chapter offices other than president. (Annual Membership Dues: $85.00).
Eligibility for Affiliates of the Chapter:
The OC Chapter Board of Directors, at its discretion, may allow other interested parties to become affiliates of the Chapter under the terms set forth below. Affiliates are those parties, regardless of their field of endeavor, who desire to align themselves with the Chapter. Affiliates of the Chapter are not required to meet all the qualifications and requirements for membership in the Chapter or the ACFE, but are encouraged to do so. The Chapter Board of Directors may assess appropriate dues for affiliates and may establish other requirements for participation by affiliates as it deems appropriate. Affiliates of the OC Chapter shall not be, nor represent themselves to be, members of the Chapter, shall have no Chapter voting rights, and shall not be eligible to hold any Chapter office. (Annual Affiliate Dues: $85.00).
Students (full or part-time and graduate or undergraduate) are encouraged to join the OC Chapter as Affiliates with a current student ID number. (Annual Affiliate for Student Only Dues: $35.00).
Dual Membership and Transfers of Membership:
The OC Chapter Board of Directors may decide whether to allow members or affiliates from another Chapter to join as members or affiliates of the OC Chapter. Individual participation in one Chapter may be transferred to another Chapter, subject to the rules and regulations of both Chapters.
