Our Inspector General's office is looking for a Forensic Accountant to conduct professional level investigative and auditing work in connection with alleged improprieties, waste, fraud and other complaints brought against District departments, employees, vendors and contractors.

Our assignments are not routine, you are expected to use your research and analytical skills. You will use all your skills, plus have the opportunity to develop new ones.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Knowledge of fundamental principles of accounting and auditing
• Knowledge of investigative fraud techniques
• Knowledge of criminal law, civil law, rules of evidence, and expert witness matters
• Exceptional skills in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to conduct thorough investigations
• Experience in identifying and gathering pertinent information during an investigation
• Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing with District personnel and the public; prepare clear, concise, and conclusive reports
• Exceptional problem solving skills
• Ability to work effectively with investigators on various team project
